At the edge of the Yntemapolder and opposite the day-harbour (passantenhaven) is Attema-Sate, a national heritage site from 1770. The house is connected with the village of Gaastmeer by bridge
Attema-Sate is situated on the canal de Wijde Sloot which is connected with two of the largest Frysian lakes, the lakes Heegermeer and Fluessen, by the canal It Piel. The great IJsselmeer lake can easily and quickly be reached by private boat.
Attema-Sate is ideal for cyclers since it is next to a cycle route.
Gaastmeer can be reached by car via Heeg or Oudega (SW).
The city of Sneek has a trainstation and can be reached by bus every hour.
