The layout of the garden by Wilfried Reuvers was finished in 2016.

Wilfried says: It was a real challenge to renovate the yard of a national heritage site from the 18th centrury, situated between water and a polder. Because the dyke needed to be strengthened, the garden had to be completely reconstructed. In very good consultation with the owners, it has been turned back into a sober and open space, just like it is supposed to be at a Frysian Sate. Close to the family house there are some solemn floral elements. Alongside the terraces are lush but easy to maintain borders with hedges and leafy trees. There is protection where needed and open views where possible.
